BOOK DESIGN
Commuting. Community. Collage.
The art of collage and the book form unite in this special collaboration with Melinda Rittenhouse.
Created as part of Melinda's first solo exhibition of intricate collage work on collected paper bus passes, this book highlights works from the show alongside several essays. I designed the layout to incorporate subtle nods to public transportation and to visualize her habit of making in different areas in the community over many years.
A minimalist aesthetic was key to allow her collage details and process images to shine and be celebrated. Hand stitched by Melinda, it’s a lovely book to hold and a cozy invitation to her work.
